DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH AND AMERICAN STUDIES, FACULTY OF ARTS, CONSTANTINE THE PHILOSOPHER UNIVERSITY IN NITRA

cordially invites all the students and their teachers interested in teaching learners with learning disorders to an online lecture on the following topic:

Learning Disorders
What do we know about them? How can we successfully work with them in English lessons?
Lecturer: Tsafi Timor, PhD.
Institution: The Kibbutzim College of Education, Tel-Aviv, ISRAEL

Characteristics of the event
The online lecture addresses mainly students of the master degree study programme at the Department of English and American studies. They will get familiar with a sensitive topic of a competent professional-methodological approach of teachers in English language classroom to learners with learning disorders in a foreign language. Teacher trainees usually meet integrated learners for the first time during their teaching practice in lower secondary schools. How do dysgraphic, dyslexic, dysorthographic learners manifest themselves? How to accept and bypass their disorders? How to motivate them, how to teach them to learn and master the subject matter in the best possible way? What professional-methodological approaches to choose, how to support their creativity? Answers to these and other questions will be sought by a highly experienced professional, a passionate pedagogue from Israel, who has been successfully dealing with this issue for many years. The lecture will also include a demonstration of some practices of a specific foreign language subject matter.
